How much money did North Carolinians lose while sports betting in September?

RALEIGH, N.C. (WAVY) — The North Carolina State Lottery Commission reported over $70 million in gross wagering revenue from sports betting in September.

Last month, over $575 million was bet on sporting events, including paid and promotional bets in the state. From those bets, account holders won over $501 million.

According to the commission, the N.C. Department of Revenue will collect just over $12.6 million after the 18% tax rate is applied.
