High Point officer hurt breaking up bar fight involving 10 people, police say

High Point police said an officer was hurt while trying to break up a fight at bar Sunday.

HIGH POINT, N.C. — A High Point officer was hurt while breaking up a fight at a bar that involved 10 people on Sunday, Nov. 24, police say. 

Officers responded to a public disturbance call at Blue Bourbon Jack’s on N Main St just before midnight. 

A caller told officers that people were actively fighting and throwing glass bottles. When the officer arrived at the bar, he noticed 10 people leaving the bar with security following them. Several people were later arrested. 

While investigating the disturbance, several people assaulted officers at the scene.

Two suspects were arrested for felonious assault and several other charged after a High Point officer was severely injured. 

This investigation is ongoing.
