Heat and humidity continue to be the biggest weather topics today as highs return to the mid-90s and the heat index nears 100°.  There is a Heat Advisory from noon until 7 pm for Chatham and Montgomery counties where the heat index could top out between 104° and 106°.

We are expecting skies to remain mostly sunny to partly cloudy through the afternoon.  The chance of rain is 20%.

Tonight, we’ll start with mostly cloudy skies, then become partly cloudy by morning.  Lows will be in the lower-70s.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, highs will hover just below 90°, and our rain chances are going to improve as a cold front arrives Sunday morning.

Scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop Friday afternoon (40%), then quiet down before area football games begin in the evening.  Saturday will bring only a 20% chance of showers but by Sunday, rain chances jump to 70%.

Labor Day is looking great as high temperatures cool to the mid-80s under partly cloudy skies!  Enjoy!  We’ll get cooler on Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs in the mid-70s and cloudier skies.  We’ll have another round of showers popping up Wednesday afternoon, and the chance of rain is 40%.
