PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — It’s going to be a warm, muggy day with partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies. Forecast high temperatures are headed back to the mid-80s this afternoon. Along the Blue Ridge, we may have some showers toward the evening commute, but we aren’t expecting much (if any) rain in the Piedmont.
Clouds stick around overnight with lows in the mid-60s.
An approaching cold front is going to push our rain chances to 40% on Friday. While we may have some thunderstorms, we are not included in any severe weather outlook. Highs are going to be in the lower-80s.
We may be spared rain Saturday morning, but there is a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms Saturday afternoon as the cold front slowly slips into the Piedmont. Isolated storms may reach levels where a warning or two is issued, mainly due to gusty winds. Highs will be near 80°.
The slow-moving cold front is going to continue kicking up showers and thunderstorms on Sunday. The chance of rain is 60% and highs will finally return to the mid-70s.
By the beginning of next week, temperatures will be steadily staying in the mid-70s with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. There is very little interruption to this pretty weather, with only a 20% chance of isolated showers on Monday, then again on Wednesday.
