PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — It’s going to be another superb day to spend outdoors! We will have mostly sunny skies to enjoy for most of the day and highs in the upper-70s. Toward the afternoon commute, skies become partly cloudy but temperatures remain very comfortable. Pollen counts will stay in the HIGH category for tree pollen, and the UV index today is 8 out of 11.

A cold front will cross the North Carolina mountains tonight, kicking up clouds for the early morning drive. Temperatures will settle to the lower-50s by daybreak.

As the cold front crosses the Piedmont during the day on Thursday, we will have mostly cloudy skies and cooler temperatures. There is a slim, 25% chance of spotty showers adding up to a few hundredths of an inch in area rain gauges. Highs will cool to the mid-60s.
As the work week ends, sunshine takes over again. Friday’s highs will be seasonable, in the lower-60s, but by Saturday, highs will pop back up to near 70°. Despite a cold front coming through, Sunday remains comfortable with highs in the upper-60s under partly cloudy skies. Â
A third cold front is forecast to come through on Monday, bringing a 40% chance of showers. Highs will stay in the upper-60s on Monday, then cool back to the lower-60s on Tuesday.
