(WGHP) — Partly cloudy skies remain through the early evening hours with temperatures remaining in the 70s.
By Friday night, temperatures will fall into the 60s with mostly clear skies. Overnight tonight, we’ll see mostly clear to partly cloudy skies and temperatures will fall into the upper 40s by Saturday morning.
We’ll wake up Saturday to partly cloudy skies, but cloud cover increases into the second half of the da,y leaving us with mostly cloudy skies and temperatures in the low 70s. If you have any yard work that needs to get done, Saturday is the day to do it, as we’ll remain dry and cooler.
On Sunday, we’ll start the morning in the mid-50s and temperatures will reach the low 70s by the afternoon. Skies will be mostly cloudy and isolated showers will be possible with a 30% chance of rain.
Rain chances continue to increase overnight Sunday into Monday, and we’ll start the week off on a wet note. Morning temperatures will be in the upper 50s, but rounds of rainfall are expected throughout the day Monday. Temperatures will only reach the upper 60s by the afternoon. The chance of rain on Monday is 80%.
Our rainy weather pattern continues into Tuesday and Wednesday with rain and storms possible both days. On Tuesday, we’ll wake up in the low 60s with afternoon highs trying to reach the mid-70s. The chance of rain/storms is 80%.
Wednesday brings the potential for scattered storms with morning lows in the low 60s and highs reaching the upper 70s. The chance of storms on Wednesday is 60%.
From Sunday through Wednesday, rainfall totals look to be around 2 inches for the majority of the Piedmont Triad, with locally higher and lower amounts possible. With the potential for several rounds of rainfall throughout the first half of the week, we’ll need to watch for flash flooding potential as well.
Stray showers can’t be ruled out on Thursday and Friday, but the chance for rain is 20%. Skies will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy both days, with morning lows in the low to mid-60s and afternoon highs in the mid to upper 80s.
