DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – God’s Pit Crew will be heading to Marion, North Carolina, to rebuild a home for the Greene Family, who lost everything during the impact of Hurricane Helene.
God’s Pit Crew and volunteers headed to Marion, North Carolina, on Sunday, March 30, with all the materials needed to rebuild and furnish the home for Brian and Melissa Greene. They were displaced for six months after Helene hit the area.

Teams will remain in Marion until Friday, April 10, in hopes that the home reveal will take place on that Friday morning.
The family’s home was completely swept away during the landslides triggered by the flooding caused by Hurricane Helene. The family had to climb out of the window to escape before the home was carried off the mountainside due to the slides.
God’s Pit Crew has been working to rebuild 25 new homes for areas that are still in the process of recovering, such as Western North Carolina, East Tennessee, and Southwest Virginia.
These homes are free of cost to the families and individuals receiving them.
President of God’s Pit Crew, Randy Johnson, has extended his gratitude to those who have made the projects possible.
“A historic storm like Helene called for a historic response, and our ministry is only able to do that thanks to the care and support being shown to our group,” remarked Johnson. “Projects like this wouldn’t be possible if not for the amazing volunteers, donors, and supporters that answer the call to provide hope in what may seem like hopeless times.”
