WILMINGTON — British indie rock band Glass Animals announced the extension of their Tour of the Earth tour on Monday, including an additional stop at Wilmington’s Live Oak Bank Pavilion on June 15.

Formed in Oxford in 2010, the band has released four albums to date, though they’re best known for their biggest hit single “Heat Waves”, which went viral on TikTok.The song surpassed two billion streams on Spotify by September 2022, and eventually reached number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and number five on the UK Singles Chart. Glass Animals has been nominated for two Brit Awards and one GRAMMY — Best New Artist at the 2022 GRAMMY Awards.

The band will be joined on their tour by special guest Sofia Isella, an American alternative singer, songwriter, producer, and violinist.

Alongside the Tour of Earth 2025 announcement, Glass Animals have released a short documentary with footage from the first leg, which can be viewed here.

“This tour has made me feel some emotions,” lead singer Dave Bayley said in a press release. “The crowds have been another level of incredible…the outfits, the big crowd projects that keep blowing us away all over the world, the synchronised dances…and the inflatable cows. They’ve just felt so epic and joyful that one, we had to do a little mini documentary of the tour so far…and two, it only made sense to do a few more shows around the festivals we had planned.”

Tickets will be available starting with Discord and artist presales beginning on Wednesday, March 19 at 10 am. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general on-sale beginning on Friday, March 21 at 10 a.m. at glassanimals.com.
