(WGHP) — Get ready for another very warm day across the Piedmont.
Cloudy skies on Saturday morning will give way to partly sunny skies during the day. Saturday will be another very warm day with highs in the mid to upper 80s. The record high for Saturday is 87 degrees.
The cold front that has hammered the Mid-south with tornadoes, hail, damaging winds, and flooding will finally begin to move. Sunday morning will be cloudy in the Piedmont with lows in the upper 60s. Rain, with a few thunderstorms, will arrive on Sunday afternoon. At this time, the Piedmont is looking at a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms. Remember, at one time the Mid-south was under a high risk for severe weather. So, our cold front will be weaker on Sunday with highs in the low to middle 80s. Chance of rain 60%.
Our cold front will continue to crawl across the state on Monday. Rain will continue with lows in the upper 50s and highs in the middle 60s. Chance of rain 70%.
The cold front will clear North Carolina on Tuesday. Look for mainly sunny skies with lows in the lower 40s and highs in the upper 50s. The normal high for April 8th is 69 degrees.
A frost or freeze is likely on Wednesday morning with lows in the low to middle 30s. Wednesday afternoon will be mostly sunny with highs around 60 degrees.
Thursday, partly sunny with lows around 40 degrees and highs in the middle 60s.
Rain is in the forecast on Friday with lows in the upper 40s. Our highs will return to seasonal values during the day. Highs on Friday afternoon will top out near 70 degrees. Chance of rain 40%.
