PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Low pressure that brought us some rain Friday has moved off to the northeast, as high pressure moves in from the west.
There is a Frost Advisory for tonight and Sunday morning until 9 a.m. as clear skies and cooler temperatures will be widespread tonight and early Sunday. You will want to bring in any tender plants if you can and if that is not possible, you are advised to cover the young shoots from the cold overnight, but remember to take off that cover tomorrow morning.
Sunday should be a pleasant day with sunshine and highs in the mid 60’s. Winds will be shifting Sunday to the south and bring much warmer temperatures for Monday.
It looks like the high Monday will be around 82, with the low Monday night around 60. A weak dry cold front will then move through Monday night or Tuesday morning and bring those highs back to near 70 for Tuesday and the upper 60s for Wednesday and Thursday.
While all of this is going on, the winds will also pick back up. We might see a Fire Advisory or even a Burn Ban issued for Monday and Tuesday as the moisture will be very low and the winds are expected to be around 10-20 mph.
Wednesday’s winds could be as high as 30 mph, and some models show gusts Wednesday of more than 40 mph, so we might also see a Fire Advisory or a Burn Ban Wednesday as well.
