PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — A Frost Advisory is in effect until 9 am for Alamance, Chatham, Davidson, Forsyth, Guilford, Montgomery, and Randolph Counties. Scattered frost is possible this morning, bringing a threat to newly established vegetation. Â

It’s going to be a beautiful day with sunny skies and light winds. High pressure is slipping across the state, keeping our skies clear and bringing seasonable temperatures. Highs today will rise to the mid-60s and the UV index is in the high range, a 7 out of 11.

Scattered clouds will creep into our skies overnight and lows will be in the mid-40s.
As high pressure slips offshore, a warm, southerly breeze will develop across the Carolinas. As a result, temperatures will get a dramatic boost to the upper-70s Friday afternoon under partly cloudy skies. Saturday will be very similar with unseasonably warm weather. The only change for Saturday is for skies to be mostly cloudy most of the day.
An approaching storm system will bring a 40% chance of showers to the Piedmont on Sunday, but temperatures are going to stay mild, in the mid-70s.
We will be monitoring the approaching system as it comes in on Monday. There is a risk of strong to severe thunderstorms on Monday, with highs in the mid-70s.
In the wake of Monday’s storms, we will have calmer, cooler weather to enjoy! Tuesday and Wednesday, highs will return to the upper-60s with partly to mostly cloudy skies.
