PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — High pressure will be building across the Mid-Atlantic and the Carolinas for the next two days, so enjoy a lot of sunshine!Â
Despite the sun, we will experience unseasonably cold temperatures. Highs today will climb to the mid-50s, but tonight, lows are expected to be at or below 32°. Â

A Freeze Warning will be in effect between 4 a.m. and 9 a.m. Wednesday morning. Lows in the Triad are forecast to be close to freezing, with outlying areas potentially dipping into the upper teens. Please take measures to protect any newly established plants overnight.
More sunshine comes our way on Wednesday, with highs near 60°.
An area of low pressure is going to tumble across the Midwest and make its way toward the Appalachians on Thursday and Friday.Â

Ahead of this system, Thursday, clouds will be increasing. Showers are forecast to develop Thursday afternoon and continue through the day on Friday. Rainfall totals will be under 1/2″. The highs on both days will be in the mid-60s.
This weekend is looking fantastic, with partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will be warming up steadily from 60° on Saturday to 67° on Sunday. There is a bigger warm-up on the way for the early part of next week as highs rise to the upper-70s Monday afternoon under mostly sunny skies.
