PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — A Flood Watch is in effect until 8 am Tuesday.
A potent area of low pressure will bring unsettled weather to the southeastern U.S. through the middle of the week. Showers are going to increase across the Piedmont this morning, and it will come in heavily at times. Highs stay cool, in the upper-60s.
Showers and a few thunderstorms are expected overnight with lows in the mid-60s. The chance of rain is 100% and we may have 1″ to 1.5″ by tomorrow morning.
Showers and a few thunderstorms will continue Tuesday and Wednesday, though they will be more scattered in nature. A warm front will sweep to our north on Tuesday, pushing highs into the mid-70s both days.
We are expecting a break from the showers as the low-pressure system starts to die down. Rain chances will dip to 25% on Thursday and temperatures are going to really warm up too, reaching the lower-80s under partly cloudy skies.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast for Friday, and it’s going to be our warmest day of the week. There is a 40% chance of rain and highs will be in the upper-80s.
Over the weekend, look forward to drier conditions. We will have cloudy skies Saturday with highs in the mid-80s. Sunday is going to be partly cloudy with highs in the lower-80s.
