Expect warm, sunny Wednesday in Piedmont Triad

(WGHP) — A beautiful day will turn into a nice and quiet evening in the Piedmont Triad. Skies will remain clear this evening, with temperatures falling to the mid-60s after 7 p.m.

Skies remain clear overnight, which will allow temperatures to fall into the low-40s Wednesday morning. Afternoon high temperatures will be nice and warm, reaching the upper-70s with plenty of sunshine.

A mix of sun and clouds on Thursday, with morning lows in the upper-40s and highs in the mid-70s. Friday will be a copycat version of Thursday with partly cloudy skies, morning lows in the upper-40s, and highs in the mid-70s.

Mostly cloudy skies and some rain chances return on Saturday. Scattered showers will be possible in the afternoon with a 40% chance for rain. Temperatures will remain warm, with morning lows in the mid-50s and highs in the mid-70s.

Our next “big” weather maker arrives on Sunday as a cold front pushes through the area. Ahead of the cold front, we could see a few strong thunderstorms, some of which may reach severe thunderstorm criteria. The main concern with any storms would likely be a damaging wind threat as well as a low, isolated tornado threat. We’re still several days out, but we’re watching Sunday closely. The chance for rain/storms is 70%.

Mostly sunny skies return on Monday, but behind Sunday’s cold front, it’ll be a little cooler. Morning temperatures start in the mid-40s, and afternoon highs reach the low 60s.

Sunshine continues to dominate on Tuesday, with morning lows in the upper 30s and afternoon highs reaching the upper 60s.
