Expect scattered showers, thunderstorms in Piedmont Triad Wednesday

(WGHP) — A large upper-level system that’s been spinning across the East Coast will finally begin to move away.

Wednesday will feature a mix of clouds and sun with highs in the mid to upper 70s. A large upper level low pressure system plus daytime heating will work together to bring the Piedmont scattered afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. Chance of rain 60%.

The upper low will be out of the region on Thursday. Our rain chances will be lower, but it will still be a humid day with highs in the low to middle 80s. Chance of rain 20%.

Very warm and muggy on Friday with highs in the upper 80s. At times, our heat index or feels like temperatures will be in the low 90s. So, slow down and drink lots of water on Friday afternoon. Chance of rain 20%.

A cold front will bring us a better chance for scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms on Saturday. It’s going to be another warm and humid day with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Chance of rain 40%.

Cooler and less humid air will move in behind the cold front on Sunday. Under partly sunny skies, highs will be in the lower 80s.

Monday, partly sunny with highs in the low to middle 80s.

Tuesday, partly sunny with highs in the lower 80s. Chance of rain 20%.
