Expect a nice start to the week in the Piedmont Triad

(WGHP) — High pressure along the East Coast will bring the Piedmont some pleasant weather.

Tuesday will be a sunny day with lows in the lower 50s and highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s.

On Wednesday, high pressure will begin to move away, while a cold front slides down the East Coast. The cold front could get close enough to spark an isolated afternoon or evening thunderstorm. Otherwise, Wednesday will be partly sunny with highs in the mid-80s. Chance of rain 30%.

Increasing humidity could bring us another chance for a few afternoon or evening thunderstorms on Thursday. Otherwise, Thursday will be partly sunny with highs in the mid-80s.  Chance of rain 30%.

A stronger cold front will bring us a good chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms on Friday. Highs on Friday will be in the lower 80s. Chance of rain 40%.

Behind the cold front, Saturday will be a cooler day. Look for partly to mostly sunny skies on Saturday with highs in the middle 70s.

Despite sunny skies, Sunday could be an even cooler day. Sunday morning lows will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Highs on Sunday will be in the low to middle 70s.

Monday morning will be cool with lows in the upper 40s. Under sunny skies, highs on Monday will be in the mid to upper 70s.
