(WGHP) — It’s going to be a hot, humid day!Â
The chance of rain during daylight hours is quite low until dinnertime. Highs will top out in the upper 80s with a heat index of 94, however, so please stay cool today! The chance of rain is 20%.
By early evening, scattered showers are expected to develop across the Piedmont, and heavier rain is expected overnight. Periods of heavy rain are expected with lows in the lower 70s. The chance of rain is 95%, and some communities may have 1″ to 2″ by tomorrow morning.
Rain will taper off by Thursday afternoon though clouds will stubbornly stay put. Highs are going to be in the lower 70s.
A cold front will drop southward, crossing the Piedmont early Friday; this front will bring just light, scattered showers and cooler air, with highs in the lower 80s. The chance of rain is 40%.
Over the weekend, the humidity is going to decrease slightly under partly to mostly cloudy skies. Highs Saturday and Sunday will be in the mid-80s.
As we begin the new work week, the chance of showers and thunderstorms returns to between 40% and 50%. Temperatures are going to warm back up too, with highs on Monday in the mid-80’s and Tuesday, back to the upper 80s.
