HENRY COUNTY, Va. — Two people including a man from Eden were arrested after there was a high-speed car chase along Highway 87 into North Carolina on Saturday, Sept. 21, according to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office said the vehicle involved in the chase was a white Buick car that had been involved in a theft at a local business.
A deputy ran the tag on the vehicle traveling south on Greensboro Road around 2:11 p.m. and noticed the information on the tag did not match the vehicle. When the deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle began to speed away and drive in a reckless manner.

Near the intersection of Vista View Lane and Highway 87, a deputy from Henry County tried to stop the vehicle. The vehicle lost traction and slid into an embankment. The vehicle rolled over and pinned the deputy’s leg between their patrol car and the suspect’s vehicle. The deputy was transported to a nearby hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect exited the vehicle and ran on foot while deputies tried to chase him, but they eventually lost sight of him.
