PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — There is a Dense Fog Advisory until 9 a.m. for Alamance, Caswell, Chatham, Davidson, Forsyth, Guilford, Randolph, Rockingham, and Stokes Counties.
Visibility across the entire FOX8 viewing area is diminishing with fog this morning. Please use caution as you navigate the morning commute. Later this morning, skies will become partly cloudy, and temperatures will rapidly warm up. We are expecting highs to be in the mid-80s this afternoon. The UV index is going to be 9 out of 11, so sunscreen is highly recommended. The chance of rain is 20%.
Overnight, clouds will roll back in. Temperatures are going to stay rather warm with the insulating layer of clouds, dipping into the upper-60s.
Friday will start with clouds, then become partly cloudy toward the end of the day. A steady, southwest breeze is going to push highs into the mid- to upper-80s by afternoon.
The weekend remains warm, with highs in the mid-80s under partly cloudy skies. A cold front will cross the state late on Saturday, and though temperatures won’t change much on Sunday, the humidity will be noticeably lower. The NASCAR All-Star Race at the Wilkesboro Speedway is looking great, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures starting near 80° for the start of the race. Temperatures are going to hover in the mid-70s until the checkered flag waves.
