The coffee was labeled decaf but is actually caffeinated.
SAN FRANCISCO — Massimo Zanetti Beverage USA recalled thousands of bags of Our Family Traverse City Ground Coffee across the U.S. due to a mislabeling, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
The recall says bags of Cherry Artificially Flavored Decaf Light Roast Ground Coffee was labeled decaf, but is actually caffeinated.
The FDA issued a Class II risk level Tuesday, meaning “use of, or exposure to, a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.”
The estimated 4,100 bags were shipped to distribution centers and retail stores in:

- Iowa
- Illinois
- Indiana
- Kansas
- Kentucky
- Michigan
- Minnesota
- North Carolina
- North Dakota
- Nebraska
- Ohio
- South Dakota
- Wisconsin
- Wyoming
The recalled product is sold in 12oz bags and has a best before date of 080325, Aug. 3, 2025.
The recall is ongoing and began March 13. No other information is available at this time.
