PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Temperatures were nearly 25 degrees cooler today compared to our Saturday afternoon, but at least the sun was shining! We’ll hold on to clear skies this evening and overnight with temperatures falling into the 30s by 8 p.m.
We’ll wake up Monday morning with lows in the mid-20s. We’ll see plenty of sunshine, and temperatures will gradually warm up, with highs in the low to mid-50s by the afternoon.
By Tuesday, morning lows start in the mid-30s and afternoon highs reach the low 60s. Clouds will return on Tuesday with partly to mostly cloudy skies.
Wednesday is when our next weather maker arrives thanks to a cold front. Strong storms will move in ahead of an approaching cold front and damaging winds as well as an isolated tornado are possible with storms. A first look at the timing of storms has them moving from west to east between 7 AM and 2 PM. Outside of storms, winds will also be gusting up to 50 mph with sustained winds between 15 to 25 mph. Once the storms move through, sun looks to come out by the evening. Temperatures on Wednesday start in the mid 50s and reach the upper 60s.
Behind Wednesday’s cold front, temperatures will start in the low 40s Thursday morning and afternoon highs reach the low 50s. Skies will be partly cloudy, and it’ll still be windy with northwest winds between 15 to 25 mph.
Partly cloudy skies remain on Friday with morning lows in the low to mid-30s and afternoon highs in the upper 50s.
Another chance for rain returns for the weekend with a 30% chance both Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures on Saturday will be in the low 40s and highs reach the mid-60s. By Sunday, temperatures start in the low 40s but highs will be a little cooler in the upper 50s. Skies will be partly cloudy both days.
