PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — A cold front will slide across the Piedmont early, bringing light showers to the morning commute. Temperatures are mild, in the mid-to-upper-50s this morning. We expect highs around 67° in the Triad along with some peeks of sunshine by afternoon. It will stay breezy, with wind gusts between 18 and 22 mph.

Tonight, high pressure will keep our skies clear, allowing temperatures to dip into the mid-40s.

The rest of the work week will be dry, with partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies. Highs are forecast to rise to the lower-70s on Tuesday as another low grazes the Piedmont. Behind that system highs will be more seasonable, in the mid-60’s Wednesday and Thursday.

We will have calm weather to enjoy Friday with partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid-70s, and then another system will be churning toward the Carolinas for part of the weekend. Expect cloudier skies Saturday and Sunday with highs in the upper-70s.  On Sunday, there is a 40% chance of showers.
