CMPD investigating homicide after man found dead over the weekend

Based on consultation with the Mecklenburg County Medical Examiner’s Office, CMPD says this investigation is now being classified as a homicide.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man who had been shot was found on Saturday and confirmed dead. Now, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating it as a homicide. 

Officers responded to Arlington Church Road near Bartlett Road, about two miles from Interstate 485, around 4:20 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they found 23-year-old Carlos Stanley Garcia Ramos, who had been fatally shot.

Detectives started conducting an investigation and Crime Scene Search collected evidence from the scene. Based on consultation with the Mecklenburg County Medical Examiner’s Office, CMPD says this investigation is now being classified as a homicide. 

Ramos’ death have been notified of his death and the ongoing investigation.
