Catawba County deputies looking for shooting suspect

The victim is in serious but stable condition at a hospital.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, N.C. — WCNC Charlotte has chosen to use this mugshot because the suspect is still wanted by authorities.

An investigation into a shooting in a Catawba County community remains ongoing as deputies say they’re still looking for a suspect.

The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office shared details about the shooting on Tuesday. It happened on Saturday, Dec. 14, along Hwy. 127 South in the Mountain View community near I-40. The victim is an adult male who is still in the hospital in serious but stable condition.

Deputies identified the suspect as 25-year-old Chandler Montgomery Jackson. He’s wanted for one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill – inflicting serious injury. He’s also from Mountain View but hasn’t been found as of publication.
