RALEIGH, N.C. — In the devastating wake of Hurricane Helene, North Carolinians are scrambling to find ways to help their neighbors out west.
The Carolina Hurricanes took it upon themselves to help those who have suffered from their namesake.
The hockey team made Wednesday night’s preseason game against the Nashville Predators a Hurricane Relief Game, where all ticket revenue will go towards relief efforts.
The Caniacs sold it out, generating at least $235,000 for the cause.
Doug Warf, the president of the Carolina Hurricanes and the Lenovo Center, tweeted about the achievement.
