BURGAW — A concert series will kick off this month, hosted by the Pender Arts Council in Burgaw.
Over the next five months, a Blueberry Jam Concert — in partnership with Burgaw Now, Monotone, Visit Pender and Visit Burgaw — will take place the second Friday at Dees Park on Courthouse Avenue. Music will be featured from area bands and performers, a pop-up market will take place and there will be a classic car cruise-in.
The pop-up market, taking place at the nearby Pender Arts Council building at 111 S Wright Street, will feature local artisans, handmade goods, and unique finds, opening at 5 p.m. The concerts take place at 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and attendees are welcome to bring a chair and picnic (no alcohol). It’s a free event as well, with individually priced wares for purchase from artisans and makers.
“It’s a great opportunity to support local musicians, artists, makers, and the arts while bringing the community together,” Eden Mills, president of Pender Arts Council, said in a press release.
Event dates are April 11, May 9, June 13, July 11, and August 8. Folks who wish to vend as part of the arts market can visit here or email penderartscouncil@gmail.com.
