BRUNSWICK COUNTY — The Brunswick County school district is set to reopen 14 of its schools after last week’s tropical storm required the district to shift to remote learning due to infrastructure challenges.
District spokesperson Gordon Burnette said the following schools will welcome students and staff back on Wednesday, September 25:
- North Brunswick High School
- West Brunswick High School
- The COAST
- Brunswick County Early College High School
- Leland Middle School
- Shallotte Middle School
- Town Creek Middle School
- Waccamaw School
- Jessie Mae Monroe Elementary School
- Union Elementary School
- Supply Elementary School
- Lincoln Elementary School
- Belville Elementary School
- Town Creek Elementary School
According to the release, all other certified employees at closed sites are encouraged to report to work if they are able. If they cannot, they should coordinate with their direct supervisor to develop a remote work plan.
Certified staff who are not classroom teachers, as well as classified staff unable to report to their regular job site on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, should reach out to their supervisor to obtain approval for a new work location or for remote work options.
“We will continue to monitor road conditions and closures throughout the county. If there is an opportunity to open more of our schools, we will update you all as soon as possible,” Burnette stated in the release.
