Brunswick County performing free well testing following storm

Brunswick County Environmental Health is waiving its normal $50 bacteriological water sample fee through Oct. 4, as approved by the Board of Commissioners Monday.

BRUNSWICK COUNTY — Residents who want to have their private drinking water tested following last Monday’s flooding from potential tropical cyclone eight will have the opportunity to do so for free.

Brunswick County Environmental Health is waiving its normal $50 bacteriological water sample fee through Oct. 4, as approved by the Board of Commissioners Monday.

To request testing, residents should call 910-253-2150.

Anyone who experienced flooded water wells should boil water before use or utilize bottled water until testing identifies the well water as safe.
