Lee County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Broadway man in late December on child sex charges.

Sheriff Brian Estes announced Thursday that 40-year-old Tadd Andrew Parks was charged on December 22 with counts of solicitation of a child by computer to commit a sex act and first degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

The arrest followed the execution of search warrant at Parks’ home at 112-A Milton Ave. in Broadway. Estes said deputies received information from the Internet Crimes Against Children task force indicating that Parks had allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with a child in Alabama and that he had produced pornographic images of the child.

Estes added that “several items of evidence” were collected during the search. The investigation was described as “ongoing” and authorities asked anyone with information about Parks to call the Lee County Sheriff’s Office at (919) 775-5531.

Parks was placed in the Lee County Jail under $350,000 secured bond. As of January 4, when Parks’ arrest was announced, he did not show as a current inmate in the jail. Court records show he made a first appearance on December 28, and is scheduled to be arraigned on February 19.
