Guilford County deputies said Devonte Eugene Scott, 26, of Abermarle, was shot and killed while trying to rob the truck in the Food Lion parking lot on Tuesday, Sept. 10. Police have not yet said who fired the shots.
Court records show Scott was arrested in Rowan County in June. Investigators said he and another man planned to rob a Brinks driver outside Five Below. Scott was charged with conspiracy to commit a robbery with a dangerous weapon in that case.Â
