The insurance provider says this action is in effect for all of North Carolina following the governor’s declaration of a state of emergency on August 5.Â
Early prescription refills are available through August 19, Blue Cross NC said in a release.Â
Early refills must be made while the state of emergency is in effect, and Blue Cross NC says the early refill policy does not apply to controlled substances – so, medications for things like severe pain, anxiety, insomnia, and ADHD.Â
