Officers arrested one person on W. Kivett St. without incident.
ASHEBORO, N.C. — The Asheboro Police Department used an interesting method to help them resolve a SWAT situation Wednesday afternoon.
According to Ethan Williamson of the department’s criminal investigations division, officers and Randolph County Emergency Services responded to W. Kivett St. in Asheboro after receiving reports that a person with a warrant out for their arrest had barricaded themselves inside an out building.
Officers on scene used drones to help get a visual on the subject, who was ultimately arrested without incident.
No other information about the identity of the person arrested or any charges they face is currently available. We will work to update you with any new information as we receive it.
