No one was injured in the shooting or in the pursuit, Winston-Salem police say.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Winston-Salem police responded to a shooting that happened Thursday morning.
Officers said the shooting happened around 9:10 a.m. when shots were fired into a home on East Sprague Street. There were no injuries reported.
Further investigation revealed that unidentified individuals, at the time, in a BMW fired at the house before leaving the scene. Officers began circulating the area in search of the suspect vehicle and eventually found it on Ardmore Road near Old Salisbury Road.
Police attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle refused to stop, leading officers on a brief pursuit that ended in the 2200 block of Pope Road.
Officers used a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) to safely bring the vehicle to a stop.
The people in the car were taken into custody without incident. Police said two firearms were recovered from the vehicle.
No officers or involved individuals were hurt. Police said the Gang Unit will continue investigating and charges are forthcoming.
This investigation is ongoing.
