ANSON COUNTY, N.C. — The Anson County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of one of their own. The sheriff’s office confirmed Lieutenant Tracy Wilhoit has died.
Wilhoit started his career as a detention officer at the Anson County Jail, before eventually becoming a patrol deputy. He was later promoted to shift sergeant, then moved into the sheriff’s office civil division where he ultimately became a lieutenant.Â
“Lt. Wilhoit faithfully served the citizens of Anson County for the past 28 years,” the sheriff’s office said in a post on Facebook. “Please join Sheriff Howell in prayer for the family during this very difficult time along with the staff of the Anson County Sheriff’s Office.”
