ALBEMARLE, N.C. — No one was injured after someone fired shots toward the Albemarle Police Department headquarters building early Sunday morning, according to the police department.
Around 5:15 a.m. on Sunday, multiple shots were fired toward the building, which is located at 155 West South Street.
A person of interest in the case has been identified, according to police. That person’s name was not released publicly.
Police have not provided a motive for the shooting and say no additional information is available at this time.
The police department headquarters sits at the corner of West South Street and South 1st Street adjacent to the United States Postal Office.
