Alamance Co. man faces multiple felonies for sex crimes against a minor

One of the charges is felony solicitation of prostitution of a minor.

ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — An Alamance County man was arrested and charged with multiple sex-related charges involving a minor Thursday. 

The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office said in a release they received reports of an alleged sexual assault of a minor at a house in southeast Alamance County. They identified the suspect as Gary Harris Jr, 36.

Deputies interviewed the victim and arrested Harris on one count of felony solicitation of prostitution of a minor.

The next day, Harris had his first appearance hearing and was ordered held under a $30,000 secured bond.

Later detectives found probable cause to charge Harris with additional felonies including 2 counts of felony indecent liberties with a child, one count of felony statutory sex offense, one count of felony peeing using a photographic imaging device, and one count of misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

He’s being held at the Alamance County Jail with no bond.
