GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — The snow and ice is now melting away and AAA experts said one of the first things you should do is wash your car.
All the salt and brine put down on the roads to de-ice them earlier this week is now on your car and could possibly damage it.
They said now is the perfect time to treat your car to a spa day.
“We’re not just talking about cosmetic, you know, just a little thing here or there we’re talking about it can lead to potential rust, especially if you’re one of those people that don’t drive your car very much,” AAA Director of Public Affairs Tiffany Wright said. “Let’s say you were out driving during that weather event and then you park your car and you don’t think about it. All of those materials are sitting and they’re in your car and they’re doing their work, so to speak.”
They also suggest getting a car wax to help take away the grime.
