GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Wyndham Championship was is town this weekend, and one of the reasons visitors flocked to Greensboro.

As it wraps up, a bar down the street from the Sedgefield Country Club said this weekend is one of its busiest.

For nearly three decades Box Seat on High Point Road became a staple for golf lovers.

“They come here before they go golfing, they feel like friends when you come here to work,” Social media manager Jade Richardson said.

She told us the restaurant prepares for the Wyndham Championship each year by beefing up its staff.

“I would say it was probably one of the busiest weeks that we have of the year, it’s one of the only weeks that we double staff and really adjust the schedule according to business,” Richardson recalled.

She said some adjustments include extended hours, Richardson also works as a bartender to help where needed.

“Last night we were slam packed, there were hundreds of people in and out of here. It was extremely busy and we were open a lot later than we normally are,” Richardson said.

Last year the PGA Tour estimated the Wyndham Championship brought in around $35 million to the triad.
