Woman arrested, charged after allegedly assaulting 3-year-old in Elon

ELON, N.C. — An 18-year-old was arrested and charged for assaulting a 3-year-old at Beth Schmidt Park in Elon, according to records from the Alamance District Court.

Official documents said 18-year-old Bethany Alexis Paul of Burlington was charged for the alleged assault on Sept. 4. She was held for misdemeanor assault on a child under 12.

Following her arrest, Paul’s $500 secured bond was paid. 

The child’s parents, Amber and Adam Ziebell of Elon, told WFMY News 2 their family had no relationship to Paul and are still shocked by the incident as their daughter recovers.
