Fall-like weather heads to Triad this week following cold front

Share

(WGHP) – If you thought some of our mornings last week were nice, well just wait until this week!

Following a weekend cold front, temperatures are forecast to drop this week, giving us a nice preview of fall, especially in the mornings.

For the first time since early June (and one abnormally cool morning in July), morning temperatures will be in the upper 50s starting Wednesday morning.

A normal morning temperature for mid- to late August is in the upper 60s, making this week’s morning temperatures nearly 10 degrees cooler than normal. Not only that, but upper 50s are morning lows we typically see in late September.

We may have nearly a month until the Autumn Equinox, but a little fall preview will stretch across the Piedmont Triad through the early part of the weekend.

Not only are we expecting unseasonably cool mornings, but even our afternoon high temperatures will be cooler!

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday look to be the coolest days of the week with afternoon highs in the upper 70s and low 80s, also normal temperatures for mid-September.

We don’t just have some cooler temperatures to look forward to, we’ll also see several days with mostly sunny skies and low humidity!

The low humidity means we can look forward to comfortable air as opposed to the tropical “air you can wear” we’ve seen for the last two weeks.

While we’re not quite done with summer, enjoy this break from the heat and humidity while it lasts!
