School impacts across central NC as Tropical Storm Debby approaches

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — As Tropical Storm Debby slowly approaches central North Carolina, schools in a couple of counties are planning to switch over to remote learning days.

Cumberland County Schools said that year-round and early college students will have asynchronous remote learning days on Thursday and Friday. All after school activities scheduled between Wednesday and Saturday are also canceled.

Harnett County Schools also announced that students and staff will operate under a remote learning schedule on Wednesday and Thursday. All extracurricular activities for these days are canceled as well.

Nash County Schools announced that Thursday will be a designated remote workday for all staff, except essential workers and Friday will be a remote workday for CITI High and Nash-Rocky Mount Early College High School staff. All athletics are canceled for these days as well.
