PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Showers are slowly but surely making their way into the Piedmont Triad this evening. Rain chances continue to increase overnight and into Monday morning. Temperatures remain in the 70s through 9 p.m. and will gradually fall into the mid-60s to start Monday morning.
With that being said, get the rain gear ready for Monday because you’ll need it. We’ll likely see rounds of rainfall throughout the day Monday which will keep temperatures in the mid-60s most of the day. With multiple rounds of rainfall possible throughout the day, we’ll finally see the rain move out late Monday night. The rain comes ahead of an approaching cold front which will then drop temperatures into Tuesday and Wednesday. Rainfall totals look to be between 1 to 3 inches from tonight through Monday night.
Sunshine returns on Tuesday but temperatures will be much colder with morning lows in the low 40s and highs in the upper 50s. The sunny skies stick around into Wednesday but you’ll want to protect your plants/garden/crops overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning as we’ll see a possible freeze Tuesday night with temperatures falling into the low 30s by Wednesday morning. Afternoon highs remain chilly on Wednesday in the upper 50s.
A mix of sun and clouds on Thursday with the chance for a stray shower toward the end of the day. Temperatures start in the low 40s with highs in the upper 60s. Thursday’s rain chance is 30%.
Partly cloudy skies with scattered showers possible on Friday. Temperatures will be in the low 50s in the morning with highs in the mid-60s by the afternoon. The chance of rain Friday is 60%.
