(WGHP) — Wednesday will be a great day to watch your FOX8 App carefully. Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible Wednesday morning.
A strong cold front will move across the state on Wednesday. On Wednesday morning strong to severe thunderstorms will move across the foothills. Roughly between 8 am and 9 am, strong to severe thunderstorms will enter the western Piedmont. 10 am to 11 am, our powerful thunderstorms could bring damaging wind gusts and tornadoes to the eastern Piedmont. Our line of strong thunderstorms should be out of the FOX8 region after noontime Wednesday. Again, damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadoes are possible. The rest of Wednesday will feature mostly to partly cloudy skies. Wednesday will also be a very windy day with wind gusts over 40 mph. Severe thunderstorms on Wednesday will be capable of producing wind gusts over 60 mph. The main line of storms will come through early. But there is a small chance a surge of cold air could generate a few late afternoon, early evening thunderstorms. Highs on Wednesday will be in the mid to upper 60s.
Strong winds will continue into our Thursday. Under a mix of clouds and sun, morning temperatures will be in the upper 30s with highs in the lower 50s.
Our winds will relax on Friday. Friday will be partly sunny with lows in the lower 30s and highs in the upper 50s.
Saturday, mostly sunny with lows in the middle 40s and highs in the middle 60s.
We could see a passing shower late Saturday, early Sunday. Otherwise, Sunday will be partly sunny with lows in the middle 30s and highs in the middle 50s.
