(WGHP) — Rain will continue to fall across the Piedmont

A cold rain will continue to fall across the region. As we move into Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, there is a chance some freezing rain could set up mainly north and west of the Triad.  So, for your Wednesday morning commute, drive carefully, especially across bridges and overpasses. Surfaces that are cooled from above and below could have a little ice on them.  Wednesday morning temperatures will be around 32 degrees.

There will be a lull in the precipitation, then another surge of moisture will move in Wednesday afternoon and evening. The next round of rain will be just that, rain. It will be a cold rain with highs in the mid to upper 30s. Chance of rain 90%.

Temperatures will hold steady, or slowly rise Wednesday night/Thursday morning. Rain will remain in the forecast. Rain chances will continue into Thursday with afternoon highs in the upper 50s to lower 60s. Chance of rain 60%.

We will finally dry out on Friday. Look for mostly sunny skies with lows in the upper 20s and highs in the upper 40s.

Rain will return on Saturday with lows in the lower 30s and highs in the upper 40s. Chance of rain 80%.

Warmer, but rain is likely on Sunday with lows in the low to middle 40s and highs in the lower 60s. Chance of rain 90%.

Sunny and cooler on Monday with lows in the middle 20s and highs in the middle 40s.

Tuesday, partly sunny with lows in the middle 20s and highs in the middle 40s.
