CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Early next week will bring the coldest air of the season so far and some of the coldest highs we have had in over two years.
WCNC Charlotte wants you to stay weather aware Monday-Wednesday as the bitter cold blasts the region.
Highs on Monday will be in the mid 30s. Tuesday and Wednesday may not even get above freezing. The last time our highs didn’t get above 32 degrees was Dec. 24, 2022.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning will start in the teens. Wind chills could be in the single digits at times!
The arctic blast could cause major impacts to pipes, people, pets and the energy supply.

Snow chances have slightly increased in the Charlotte area for Tuesday as model data brings the low pressure further north. The greatest confidence for snow will still be south of the area.
