Man charged for death of Winston-Salem woman

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A man has been charged for the shooting death of a Winston-Salem woman in April, Winston-Salem police say. 

Police said Troy Damentrice Abbitt was charged with felony Murder on Monday for the shooting death of 59-year-old Shannon Clark at an apartment complex on North Main Street. 

Abbitt was already booked in the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center for charges including felony firearm by felon and felony discharging a firearm from within an enclosure related to this incident. 

Abbitt appeared before a magistrate where he was given no bond, and he is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 27.
