PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — A cold front came through late yesterday and today will be noticeably cooler.

Skies are starting out partly cloudy, but a cool, northeast breeze will cause clouds to develop across the Piedmont today.  Temperatures will be near normal, reaching a high of 50°.

Clouds stay put overnight with lows in the upper-30s.

It will continue to be mostly cloudy Friday with highs in the upper-40s, and then an Arctic airmass arrives Friday night.

Our skies will clear out for the weekend, and sharply colder weather is on the way.  Highs are going to be in the lower-40s Saturday and upper-30s Sunday. Lows will be in the lower-20s and upper-teens as we begin next week.

Monday remains mostly sunny with highs near 40°.

There is a modest warm-up on the way for midweek as highs climb to the upper-40s Tuesday and near 50° Wednesday.  Clouds will be partly to mostly cloudy and there is a slim, 25% chance of showers on Christmas Day.
