Low 40s Sunday evening in the Piedmont Triad

PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Our cold weather continues as we head into the upcoming week. Temperatures will be in the low 40s this evening with partly cloudy skies but overnight clouds will clear out leaving us with mostly clear skies into Monday morning and temperatures in the mid-20s. Winds will continue to be breezy though which will have our temperatures feeling like the 10s in some spots.

Mostly sunny skies on Monday with northwest winds of 5 to 15 mph and gusts of 25 mph possible. The wind will make it feel a little colder than our actual temperatures. We’ll see highs in the low 40s but it’ll feel like the 30s most of the day.

Monday night snow lovers MAY be in for a little treat. A few snow showers look possible between 8 PM and 2 AM. The chance is low, only 20%, and it won’t be enough to cause any issues. If we do see snow showers they’ll likely be brief and light. If you’re traveling Monday night just be sure to watch for slick spots mainly on bridges/overpasses.

Temperatures drop into the low 20s on Tuesday morning with northwest winds remaining between 5 to 15 mph. The feels like temperatures will be in the 10s Tuesday morning so be sure to bundle up in your warmest winter coat! Afternoon temperatures will struggle to reach the low 40s with sunny skies. Tuesday afternoon feels-like temperatures will be in the mid-30s.

Mostly sunny skies on Wednesday with morning temperatures even colder! We’ll start the day with morning lows in the upper 10s with some breezy southwest winds continuing into the afternoon. High temperatures reach the mid-40s.

Another cold front arrives for the end of the week which will allow temperatures to fall again. Before they do though, we’ll see morning temperatures on Thursday in the low 30s and highs in the low to mid 50s. Temperatures will drop quickly by the end of the day with many seeing evening temperatures colder than the morning temperature. Skies remain mostly sunny. Winds on Thursday will be gusty with northwest winds between 10 to 25 mph and gusts of almost 40 mph possible.

The breezy conditions remain into Friday with northwest winds between 5 to 15 mph. Temperatures will be in the low 20s in the morning, feeling like the 10s, and afternoon highs will struggle to reach the low 40s, but will feel like the mid-30s.

For the weekend, a mix of sun and clouds with morning temperatures in the 20s and afternoon highs in the mid to upper 40s.
