RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — A registered sex offender was charged in late September in Randolph County after the Sheriff’s Office found out he had five outstanding warrants in Texas, according to a press release.

Forty-year-old Joseph John Iannarone was served with a fugitive warrant from Texas on five counts of felony possession with intent to promote child pornography. Iannarome was already in custody in the Randolph County Detention Center on child exploitation charges.

Iannarone received no bond initially and made his first court appearance on September 30. At that appearance, the judge set his bond at $5 million.

Now, Iannarone awaits extradition to Texas.
