(WGHP) — A Flood Watch is in effect for the following counties until midnight: Alamance, Chatham, Davidson, Forsyth, Guilford, Montgomery, and Randolph.
Showers will continue through lunchtime across the Piedmont. By mid-afternoon, the rain will be tapering off and highs will climb to the lower 80s. The chance of rain today is 80%.
Overnight, a cold front is going to drop southward across the Piedmont. Clouds remain across the Piedmont with isolated patches of mist and drizzle and lows will dip to near 70.
Friday starts a new trend that will extend into the weekend. Drier air is going to gradually build in from the north, so any showers will be confined to the southern Piedmont for the most part. The chance of rain is 30% and highs are going to modestly rise to around 83.
Over the weekend, we’ll have dry, warm conditions for anything that needs to be done outdoors. Rain chances sit at 15% on both days, and we’ll have partly cloudy skies with highs in the mid-80s.
As the new work week begins, grab your umbrella again! We’re expecting showers and thunderstorms Monday through Wednesday. The chance of rain will be highest on Monday, at 60%, then drop to 50% and 40% on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. Monday will also be a little cooler with highs near 83°, then highs quickly warm to the upper 80s Tuesday and Wednesday.
